ShedLog

Never lose track of a feed or a shed.

You fed the ball python last Tuesday. Or was it the corn snake? ShedLog is a feeding, shed and weight log for your reptiles that takes two taps at the enclosure, and reminds you on the schedule you set.

Two taps, then back to the snake.

Masking tape and a Sharpie on the tub works until you have four tubs. A feed entry in ShedLog opens with today's date and the animal you were looking at. Pick accepted or refused and you're done; the rest is there if you want it.

  1. Accepted or refusedRefusals are kept as their own record, so a run of them is easy to spot.

  2. Prey and size, if you track themMouse, rat or something else, with whatever size you write on the bag.

  3. Backdate itForgot to log Sunday's feed? Change the date and the schedule catches up.

Your schedule. Not ours.

ShedLog won't tell you how often to feed. You know your animal, and so does your vet. You set the interval, and the app does the counting.

  • The next feed is counted from the last accepted meal. A refusal doesn't push the date.
  • Pick the time of day you want the reminder. Change the next date by hand whenever you need to.
  • Care and medication reminders, including a dose schedule that ends on the day the course does. Pro

Reminders are normal iPhone notifications, so Focus modes and your notification settings still apply.

Know when the next shed is coming.

Every animal has its own rhythm. After two full cycles, ShedLog uses the gaps between Mango's own sheds to estimate the next one, so a bad-tempered week makes sense before it starts. Pro

Three refusals in a rowShedLog says so plainly on the animal's page.

Hand the vet a record, not a memory.

Make a PDF report for one reptile: recent feeds and refusals, weights, sheds, care and any flags. Print it or send it before the appointment. Pro

  • Made on your phone. Nothing is uploaded to build it.
  • Print QR labels for your enclosures. Point the iPhone camera at one and that animal's page opens in ShedLog. Pro
  • A CSV of any reptile's records for your own spreadsheets. Pro

Your records stay yours.

There are no public profiles and nothing to follow. ShedLog is a notebook, not a social network.

Free for one reptile. Pro for the rack.

If you keep one snake, the free version is the whole app for that snake, with no time limit.

Questions keepers ask

Is there an Android version?

No. ShedLog is iPhone only for now, and there's no web version either.

Will it tell me how often to feed my snake?

No, on purpose. Feeding depends on species, age, size and season, and that's a conversation for you and your vet. You set the interval and ShedLog keeps count.

Is it only for snakes?

It's built around snakes, but the species field is yours to fill in. Geckos, bearded dragons and tortoises all eat, shed and get weighed too.

What if I'm offline at feeding time?

If you've opened the app on that phone before, you can keep logging. Entries are saved on the phone and sync when you're back online. Signing in for the first time needs a connection.

Can I get my data out?

Yes, on Free and Pro. Go to Settings, then Export my data. You can also delete your account from Settings, which removes your records and photos.
